Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update 2.5: New Quests, Dual-Wielding and Mods
The free Edgerunners 2 update adds new missions, customizable cyberware, dual-wield combat and cross-platform mod support.

CD PROJEKT RED has released Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 on October 22, 2026. The free Edgerunners 2 Update is now available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following in the coming days.
Arriving alongside the release of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Netflix, the update brings a new anime-related quest, dual-wielding, 40 new cyberware appearances, and console mod support. Players can also explore new stories around Night City, collect additional Tarot cards, and find new outfits and hairstyles.
New Edgerunners 2 Quest, Night City Prison and Radio Station
The main anime crossover is Clampdown, a new side quest set before the events of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. It follows the final job of King's crew, bringing characters from the anime into Cyberpunk 2077.
Players will encounter Miguel, Emily, and Meshuga during the quest. CD PROJEKT RED revealed during REDstreams that the mission was developed alongside the anime's creative team, with voice actors from the series also appearing in the game.
The update also introduces NC Prison, a new location showcased during the presentation. Gameplay footage offers a look inside the facility, where armed NCPD guards patrol alongside inmates. The prison is among the new environments featured in the Edgerunners 2 content.

To unlock Clampdown, players must complete The Heist and two gigs for Wakako, then wait for a message from her.
The quest also lets players obtain a five-piece gear set based on King, also known as Weak Kingsley. The developers confirmed that the equipment is tied to the story, with its inclusion designed to remain consistent with the events of the anime.
Beyond the quest, Update 2.5 adds HKGN 102.0 FM, a new radio station featuring 16 songs from both seasons of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Players can listen to the soundtrack while driving around Night City.

Dual-Wielding Lets V Use Two Handguns at Once
Update 2.5 finally lets V fight with two handguns, a combat style previously associated with characters such as Jackie Welles.
The feature is unlocked through the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool skill tree, alongside four supporting perks that expand the dual-wielding playstyle.
Players can combine different Power-category pistols and revolvers, including Iconic weapons. CD PROJEKT RED confirmed during REDstreams that the weapons retain their individual properties, although dual-wielding comes with balancing penalties affected by the perks selected.
That also means players can experiment with combinations such as Jackie's pistols or mix different Iconic handguns to create their own build.
However, dual-wielding is limited to Power pistols and revolvers. Shotguns and other weapon categories are not supported. The developers explained that the restriction helps prevent the new combat style from becoming excessively powerful.
New dual-wielding poses have also been added to Photo Mode.
40 New Cyberware Looks and Five Glamdocs
Cyberware customization is another major addition. Update 2.5 introduces 40 new cyberware appearances and five new specialists called Glamdocs, allowing players to change the look of V's arm cyberware.
Glamdocs are marked with a spray-paint icon on the map and can customize four types of cyberware:
- Mantis Blades
- Gorilla Arms
- Monowire
- Projectile Launch System

Each Glamdoc has a unique shop interior, introductory scene, voice acting, and selection of designs. Their catalogs reflect different manufacturers and factions found throughout Night City.
The customization goes beyond the 40 base appearances. Players can also adjust colors using a system similar to the game's TWINTONE vehicle customization.
Color options depend on the manufacturer. For example, Arasaka cyberware follows the company's black-and-red visual identity rather than allowing every possible color. Other designs draw inspiration from Night City's gangs, including more colorful styles and additional decorative details.
CD PROJEKT RED also confirmed that Glamdocs are placed near existing Ripperdocs. Players can visit a Ripperdoc to equip new cyberware, then head to a nearby Glamdoc to customize its appearance.
Console Mod Support: How It Works
For the first time, Cyberpunk 2077 is introducing an integrated, cross-platform mod system powered by mod.io.
The feature allows players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 to browse and install selected community-created mods through the game itself.

According to the developers, the process is straightforward: open the new Mods section from the main menu, search for a mod, download it, and enable it. Mods can also be disabled from the same interface.
The initial library includes different types of modifications, from cosmetic changes and additional cats in apartments to community-created quests.
However, not every existing PC mod will be compatible with consoles. CD PROJEKT RED is working with mod creators to curate the available selection and plans to add more mods and functionality in the coming weeks.
The developers also advised players not to install too many mods at once, as certain combinations could affect game stability.
Console players should be aware of one restriction: achievements and trophies cannot be earned while playing from a modded save. These saves now have a dedicated icon in the Load Game menu.
Night City Tours and New Tarot Cards
Another new side quest, Welcome to Paradise, introduces a guided tour of Night City narrated by its founder, Richard Night.

Unlike the game's combat-focused missions, this quest concentrates on the city's history, culture, and lore. Players travel through Night City while listening to Richard Night explain how it was built and the ideas behind it.
But the tour is not entirely what it seems. During REDstreams, the developers hinted that what Richard Night says does not always match what players see around them. Paying attention to those differences is part of uncovering the quest's mystery.
Welcome to Paradise unlocks after completing The Heist and reaching Street Cred level 15.
Update 2.5 also expands the Tarot card hunt with 12 new Minor Arcana cards hidden throughout Night City.
Scanning any of these cards begins a new quest connected to Fool on the Hill. Collecting all twelve earns a special reward, while the Tarot menu now separates Major and Minor Arcana cards.
The developers also mentioned that players may want to speak with Misty after finding the new cards.
New Outfits, Hairstyles and Twitch Drops
Players looking to update V's appearance will find several new clothing collections at vendors around Night City.
Four new outfit styles are available from the following locations:
- Maxiwear: Heywood, Arroyo, and Little China.
- Jinguji: City Center.
- NetWatch: Kabuki and Japantown.
- IconAmerica: Pacifica, the Badlands, and Northside.
Another clothing collection is planned for a later release.
The update also makes the previously Twitch-exclusive NUS Infiltrator outfit available from vendors in Kabuki and Japantown, giving players another way to obtain the set.
Several hairstyles previously exclusive to NPCs are now available for V, although some remain restricted to specific body types.
There are also four new TWINTONE paint jobs for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech through Twitch Drops. During REDstreams, CD PROJEKT RED explained that players can earn one paint job for every 30 minutes of eligible viewing, requiring two hours in total to collect all four.
Photo Mode receives additional frames inspired by the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game, alongside the new dual-wielding poses.
Graphics, Performance and Quality-of-Life Changes
Update 2.5 also includes several technical improvements and features requested by players.
One of the most notable additions for console users is a field-of-view (FOV) slider, allowing players to adjust how much of the game world is visible on screen.
Other quality-of-life changes include:
- Save files are now grouped by playthrough in the Load Game menu.
- Apartment and vehicle stashes have new item filters.
- Modded saves are marked with a dedicated icon.
- CD PROJEKT RED account linking, My Rewards, and telemetry consent menus have been updated.
For PC players with compatible hardware, the update adds DLSS 4.5, including the second-generation Transformer model and support for up to 6X Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.
The developers say the updated technology is designed to deliver clearer images while reducing common upscaling artifacts such as noise and halo effects.
Other technical additions include:
- Samsung Odyssey 3D: Glasses-free 3D support on compatible monitors, with four presets and adjustable depth and comfort settings.
- Mac: MetalFX Frame Interpolation and denoising support.
- AMD FSR: A new Anti-Lag 2 toggle. FSR 3 upscaling has been removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain available.
- Ray tracing: Additional performance optimizations, including improvements for PS5 Pro.
- HDR: Improved color, brightness, and contrast accuracy on compatible displays.
The Samsung Odyssey 3D implementation also uses eye tracking to adjust the 3D effect based on the viewer's position. This does not change how the player controls V.
Bug Fixes in Update 2.5
Several gameplay and technical issues have also been addressed, including:
- Fixed a Nintendo Switch 2 issue that could display a "Save failed – insufficient space" error.
- Fixed PS5 HDR adjustments not taking effect.
- Fixed a Delamain cab getting stuck after colliding with another vehicle, preventing quest progression.
- Fixed Film Grain having no visible effect when enabled.
- Fixed certain controller schemes causing V to crouch or stand unexpectedly when tagging enemies during scanning.
- Restored missing third-person camera controller settings.
- Corrected typos in multiple languages and addressed other issues affecting features introduced since Update 2.1.

Editor's Comment
Update 2.5 gives players more reasons to return to Night City. The new Edgerunners 2 quest is a welcome addition, but features like dual-wielding, cyberware customization, and mod support could have a bigger impact on how players experience the game.
The Glamdoc system is particularly interesting. Being able to customize the appearance of arm cyberware adds a level of personalization that feels right at home in Cyberpunk 2077. It's a small detail, but one that arguably should have been available much earlier.
