UpdatesGTA 6 Launch Trailer Reveals New Story Details Ahead of November Release
Rockstar's latest GTA 6 trailer shows more of Jason and Lucia's story, new action sequences, and possible gameplay details. However, some players have raised concerns about the game's visuals.

Rockstar Games released the official Grand Theft Auto VI launch trailer on October 15, 2026, giving players another look at the game ahead of its November 19 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The 90-second video is the game's third main trailer, following the first reveal in December 2023 and Trailer 2 in May 2025. Rockstar also released a 26-minute gameplay-focused presentation in August.
Compared with the earlier trailers, the latest footage adds more background to Jason and Lucia's story, along with new action sequences and details that may hint at upcoming missions. With the release now just weeks away, it's another look at what players can expect from Vice City and the wider state of Leonida.
New Story Details and Possible Gameplay Features
The trailer opens with Jason discussing his troubled past in the Army and the difficulties he has faced since leaving. He then receives a phone call from Lucia, who is still in prison.
These scenes provide more context for the two protagonists before their criminal partnership takes shape. Rockstar's previously announced story follows the pair after a robbery goes wrong, leaving them caught in a criminal conspiracy across Leonida.
The new footage also includes bank robberies, police chases, helicopter crashes, and several quieter moments between Jason and Lucia.
A few details have drawn particular attention from players:
- Lucia's ankle monitor: Visible in one scene, it suggests she remains under legal supervision after leaving prison. Some players believe it could restrict her movements early in the game.

- Jason's tactical mission: Jason appears alongside two armed men moving through swamp water with night-vision equipment, raising questions about whether his military background will play a role in certain missions.

- Larger action sequences: Scenes involving an exploding bank vault, an aircraft escape, and a helicopter crashing into a building suggest some ambitious set pieces.

Rockstar hasn't confirmed whether these scenes represent playable missions or how the suggested mechanics might work.
Some Players Raise Concerns About the Graphics
Although the new trailer has received plenty of positive reactions, its visual presentation has also prompted discussion.
In a Reddit thread on r/GTA6, players compared the new footage with Trailer 2, pointing out that some scenes look softer, more yellow, and noticeably blurrier than before.
A few questioned whether the graphics had been downgraded. Others suggested the difference could simply come from lighting, weather, or cinematic color grading applied to the trailer.
The footage was captured entirely in-game on a PlayStation 5, but that doesn't necessarily mean its edited presentation reflects how the game will look during normal gameplay.
For now, there's no confirmed evidence of a graphical downgrade. Players will get a clearer picture when the game launches.
GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
Rockstar has reaffirmed that GTA 6 will launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release date has not been announced.

The trailer also introduces "Flower in a Hurricane," a new track from Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The song is part of Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, which is available for pre-save and physical pre-order.
With less than five weeks until release, Rockstar is entering the final stage of its marketing campaign for the first new mainline GTA game in over a decade.
Editor's Comment
The new trailer doesn't reveal much about how GTA 6 actually plays, but it's good to learn a little more about Jason and Lucia before jumping into their story. I'm particularly curious about how Jason's military past fits into the missions.
As for the graphics, comparing two heavily edited trailers only tells us so much. What matters more is how Vice City looks and runs when we're actually playing.
